WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. senators will vote on Wednesday on a $2 trillion bipartisan plan of legislation to reduce the destructive economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic, hoping it will become law rapidly.

Leading aides to Republican President Donald Trump and senior Senate Republicans and Democrats said they had settled on the extraordinary stimulus expense in the early hours of Wednesday after 5 days of marathon talks.

” Today the Senate will act to assist individuals of this country weather this storm,” Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell stated after the chamber convened at noon EDT (1600 GMT).
