Typically there are a lot of rankings modifications coming out of a PPV. This wasn’t a routine PPV I guess. UFC 255 was entertaining sometimes. It had two title battles, and ought to have probably been a draw. However it wasn’t. It did dreadful traffic for this really site, and outside of the title battles and Cynthia Calvillo vs. Katlyn Chookagian, it significantly did not have the importance required to charge big money for a card.
That is reflected in the rankings, which saw much less motion than normal coming off a PPV. Here’s a take a look at the couple of changes.
Guy’s P4P – Figueiredo climbed three spots to11 Conor McGregor (lol), Robert Whittaker, and Tony Ferguson all fell an area each to 12 through14
Heavyweight – Ciryl Gane dropped from a tie for 13 to take control of 14 on his own.
Light Heavyweight – Volkan Oezdemir goes up into a tie for six with Anthony Smith. Paul Craig is up one to14 OSP returns to at14 Shogun is out.
Middleweight – No modifications.
Welterweight – No modifications.
Light-weight – No modifications.
Featherweight – No modifications.
Bantamweight – No modifications.
Flyweight – Joseph Benavidez drops from a tie for top competitor with Brandon Moreno, to take over 2 on his own after Moreno’s win over Brandon Royval.
Women’s P4P – Valentina Shevchenko is back up to the 2 spot after her huge (albeit unusual) win over Jennifer Maia. Calvillo drops 2 areas to12
Women’s Bantamweight – No modifications.
Women’s Flyweight – Lauren Murphy is up two areas to three, trading with Jennifer Maia who is down to five. That’s confusing, Maia put up a respectable fight against the champ. Maycee Barber cracks the top 10, dropping Andrea Lee to11 Antonina Shevchenko’s excellent UFC 255 win moves her up one area to 14, dropping Montana De La Rosa to15
Women’s Strawweight – No modifications.
