The federal government faces a post-lockdown choice in between green growth or propping up polluting industries.
They say the public needs to work from home if possible; and to stroll or cycle.
And financial investment should prioritise broadband over road-building, the Committee on Climate Modification (CCC) states.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, the committee says jobless people must be re-trained for work in geographically-spread labour-intensive “green” markets such as house insulation; tree-planting; and peatland repair.
