In Basai village of Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, a woman threw nine dog puppies into a pond. All the puppies died by drowning in the water in the extreme cold. On information about the incident, animal lovers reached the spot and informed the police. With the help of the villagers, the police removed the dead bodies of the puppies and sent them for postmortem. On the Tahrir of animal lover Vibhor Sharma, a case has been registered against the woman and her husband under section 1860 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and section 429 of the IPC.
According to police sources, Anita, wife of Suryakant alias Bhure, a resident of Basai of Bisauli Kotwali area, threw nine puppies of a dog born a day earlier in the village on Thursday morning. When the villagers saw the matter, they informed Vikendra Sharma, District President of PFA. On information, animal lover Vibhor Sharma, a resident of Bisauli, reached the spot. The police rescued the puppies with the help of the villagers. Animal lover complained to the police.
SP Rural Siddharth Verma told that a case has been registered against the accused woman Anita Devi and her husband Suryakant alias Bhura on the complaint of the woman’s neighbor Vibhor Sharma alias Vibhu. The bodies of the dead puppies have been sent for postmortem. Action will be taken against the culprits after the post mortem report and investigation of the case.
