US ‘hasn’t seen’ Kim Jong-un recently, says Pompeo

US authorities “haven’t seen” North Korean leader Kim Jong-un recently and are watching reports about his health “closely”, United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has actually said.

He also expressed issue that the hermit state could be hit either by the coronavirus break out or a famine.

Mr Kim, 36, last appeared in state media on 12 April, activating speculation that he was seriously ill.

But authorities in South Korea later on said such reports were not real.

There have actually also been ideas that North Korea’s “supreme leader” may be remaining at the sea resort of Wonsan to protect himself from possible exposure to coronavirus.
