Victorians who breach social distancing rules designed to prevent the spread of coronavirus will face on-the-spot fines from today.

Police Minister Lisa Neville said individuals would deal with fines of as much as $1,652 for gathering in groups and businesses would police officer charges of $9,913
Ms Neville said the fines would apply where individuals were flouting a regulation from the Chief Health Officer “such as mass gatherings, 14- days of self-quarantine, weddings and funerals”.
The limit on weddings is 5 individuals and funerals are capped at 10 individuals. People can also be fined for organising the auction of a home.
Individuals would not be fined for standing less than 1.5 metres apart.
