German car huge Volkswagen has withdrawn a series of social media adverts and apologised after a racism row.
A controversial advert showed a dark-skinned guy being manoeuvred around by a set of white ladies’s hands prior to being snapped far from a yellow VW Golf to a jaunty soundtrack.
Volkswagen apologised, stating the advert was “wrong and horrible”.
VW said it would examine how the advert had been released.
The advert was one in a series which was supposed to illustrate a romance in between a dark-skinned male and a white female.
For example, among the adverts showed the female positioning an envelope on the windshield of the vehicle to attempt to fool the guy that he had a parking ticket, when in truth it was a letter from her.

The series, which was set in Buenos Aires, was to promote the VW Golf 8. It was put up on Instagram and Facebook.
The advert which triggered the controversy revealed the man, dressed in a match, being manipulated by a huge set of white hands over a soundtrack of a woman’s laughter, positive music, and comedic sound effects.
