A fresh slate of Korean movies is about to hit the screens, led by some of the biggest names in the industry, including Kang Ha-neul, Yim Si-wan, Lee Min-ho, Ahn Hyo-seop, Kim Da-mi, and Park Hae-soo. With a mix of genres, from romance and sci-fi to action, fantasy, and disaster, the lineup showcases the range of Korean cinema. The list includes highly anticipated titles like Wall to Wall, Mantis, The Prophet: Omniscient Reader, and The Great Flood, as well as the animated films Lost in Starlight and KPop Demon Hunters. Here are six Korean films that we can’t wait to catch.
Lost in Starlight
Set in Seoul in 2050, Lost in Starlight follows the blossoming love between Jay, an artist, and Na-young, an astronaut, who promise to have each other’s backs even when Na-young has to leave for a space mission. With the lovers torn apart by millions of miles between Earth and Mars, they discover what it truly means to love someone across time and space. Written and directed by Han Ji-won, this heartfelt animated sci-fi movie starring Kim Tae-ri and Hong Kyung marks a milestone as Netflix’s first Korean animated film.

KPop Demon Hunters
Fueled by the world of K-pop, this film is a thrilling ride of action, fantasy, music, and comedy, directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. Featuring an ensemble voice cast including Arden Cho, Daniel Dae Kim, Ahn Hyo-seop, and Lee Byung-hun, the film also boasts an original track by Twice’s Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung on its soundtrack. The trailer teases an epic showdown between good and evil, with the chart-topping K-pop girl group Huntrix leading a secret double life as demon hunters. But when the demons disguise themselves as rival boy band, the Saja Boys, and begin to steal Huntrix’s fans, the girls must face them head-on. What starts as a battle to protect their followers quickly escalates into a face-off that will determine the fate of humanity.
