The head of the World Trade Organization has stated he will step down a year earlier than prepared, at a turning point for the worldwide economy.
Roberto Azevedo’s surprise departure comes as the WTO faces the effect of the coronavirus pandemic and criticism from United States President Donald Trump.
Worldwide trade has plunged and the world is braced for the worst decline since the Great Depression.
On The Other Hand, Mr Trump has accused the body of treating America unjustly.
