The Maharashtra Cabinet passed the proposal to rename Aurangabad metropolis as Sambhaji Nagar in honour of the Maratha king.

The Maharashtra Cabinet has accredited the proposal to rename Aurangabad metropolis as Sambhaji Nagar and Osmanabad as Dharashiv. The decision comes amid threat to the MVA executive following a riot by Eknath Shinde-led community.

The quiz used to be made right during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday. Maharashtra transport Minister Anil Parab of the Shiv Sena acknowledged he demanded that Aurangabad metropolis in central Maharashtra be renamed as Sambhaji Nagar.

Earlier this month, CM Uddhav Thackeray had acknowledged that he’ll fulfill the promise made by Balasaheb and can simply rename Aurangabad as Sambhaji Nagar.

Addressing a rally in Aurangabad on June 8, Uddhav Thackeray acknowledged, “Hindutva is in our every breath… Telling lies is no longer our Hindutva, here’s no longer what Balasaheb Thackeray taught us…Balasaheb Thackeray had announced that Aurangabad would be renamed Sambhaji Nagar and I might fulfill this promise.”
