The Financial Offences Soar (EOW) of the Delhi Police booked 81 officials and workers participants of the Rohini jail on corruption costs. They were booked for taking bribes of about Rs 1.5 crore per month from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
This comes after eight jail officials were arrested for allegedly serving to jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar extort Rs 200 crore from the wife of faded Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Singh.
The EOW has been staring at for approval from the Delhi jail administration for the past six months to mark a probe against the officials.
The police booked Rohini jail workers after investigations revealed that Chandrashekhar dispensed Rs 1.5 crore bribes to the jail workers every month for getting companies and products to exhaust cellphones and a separate barrack with out any hindrance.
“Sukesh was as soon as paying Rs 1.5 crore every month for getting companies and products to exhaust cellphones and a separate barrack with out any hindrance. Sukesh Chandrashekhar is lodged in Tihar jail on costs of cash laundering and duping a number of participants.
