Worn Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar reacted to the smash of a Dalit boy in Rajasthan and acknowledged that even after 75 years of Independence, the caste machine remains India’s greatest enemy.

Meira Kumar acknowledged her father Jagjivan Ram too used to be prohibited from ingesting water in college from the pitcher intended for upper-caste Hindus.

Worn Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, in the wake of the smash of a Dalit boy in Rajasthan, acknowledged that even after 75 years of Independence, caste machine remains the nation’s greatest enemy.

Meira Kumar, who will be a former minister, claimed that her father, former Deputy High Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram, used to be overwhelmed for a the same cause a hundred years ago.

“100 years ago my father Jagjivan Ram used to be prohibited from ingesting water in college from the pitcher intended for Savarna Hindus and it used to be a miracle his lifestyles used to be saved,” Meira Kumar acknowledged in a tweet.

“This day, a nine-one year-aged Dalit boy has been killed for the same cause. 75 lengthy years after Independence, caste machine remains our greatest enemy,” she added.

A nine-one year-aged Dalit boy had died after allegedly being thrashed by his college teacher in Rajasthan’s Jalore district. The boy used to be overwhelmed up on July 20 allegedly for touching a ingesting water pot intended for upper-caste Hindus and succumbed to his injuries at a sanatorium in Ahmedabad.

The Rajasthan Police has arrested the teacher, Chail Singh, and charged him with smash and beneath sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

In the meantime, the National Fee for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in a letter to the district magistrate acknowledged the topic is excessive and sought copies of the FIR, action taken by the administration against the accused and a transcript of the action
