Ever since Britney Spears’ conservatorship got terminated, she has not missed a single chance to speak her truth. And when it came to addressing her sons – Jayden James Federline and Sean Preston, the pop icon made sure she does it in the best way possible. Spears recently took to Instagram to post a heartfelt letter for her sons where she explained why she was away. The long message went viral on the internet, winning everybody’s heart.
The letter came after her son made a rather unusual comment about his relationship with his mother. Daily Mail quoted him saying, “I 100% think this can be fixed. It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I want to see her again.”
Talking about why he and his brother missed their mom’s June wedding to Sam Asghari, he added, “At the time it just wasn’t a good time to go. I’m not saying that I’m not happy for her. I’m really happy for them, but she didn’t invite the whole family and then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms.”
Spears responded to the comment with a letter that read, “I’ve tried my best at being the best person I can be… To be basically held hostage in homes under nurses and bI hope my kids one day understand the reasoning of my play in the water revealing myself as any woman would be held under blankets and supervision under the conservatorship.” She added more details to the letter.
Talking about her former husband Kevin Federline, Spears stated, “I helped your father, who hasn’t had a job in 15 years…I assume it is easier for you guys to not have someone check on you to make sure you are doing your homework. I am sure the standards of your dad smoking weed every day benefit your daily life at 15 to partake in a very cool generation. I completely understand your need to live with your father as I had to play the perfect role for 15 years for absolutely nothing.”
Soon after she posted the note on social media, love, and support came pouring in for her. Many wished for her young sons to understand where she was coming from and understand why she had been kept away from them. Others sent her strength to be able to process this situation.
