‘Hypocrisy is overwhelming’, Sehwag knocks Australia for Gabba pitch after two-day Test

After the very first Test in between Australia and South Africa ended within 2 days, previous cricketer Virender Sehwag knocked Australia for the Gabba pitch, stating that had it occurred in India, it would have been identified as completion of test cricket and what not.

An overall of 34 wickets tipped over the course of 6 sessions and within 2 days of the very first Test. South Africa were shot out for 152 and 99 runs in 2 innings while Australia were bundled out for 216 in their very first innings and had a hard time to 35/ 4 in their 2nd innings to win the match by 6 wickets on Sunday.

In all, 19 wickets fell on the 2nd day on a green leading wicket that used a great deal of support to both groups’ rate attacks.

Taking to Twitter after the match, the previous India opener explained the hypocrisy as the Australia captain and their advocates have actually been protecting the ‘unsafe’ pitch.

“142 overs and not even long lasting 2 days and they have the audacity to lecture on what sort of pitches are required. Had it took place in India, it would have been identified completion of Test cricket, destroying Test cricket and whatnot. The Hypocrisy is overwhelming. #AUSvSA,” Sehwag tweeted.

Despite the sharp criticism of a greatly grassed Gabba strip, Australia captain Pat Cummins stated the pitch was not harmful.

” Personally, I do not mind when the groundsman errs on the greener side sometimes. I’ve played a great deal of Test matches when they’ve erred on the flatter side, so I believe it was the very same for both groups,” stated Cummins.

” There was some sideways motion, a bit of up and down bounce however it was great. There’s no balls leaping off a length or anything like that. No other way (was it harmful),” he included.
