Palamu Tiger Reserve: Leopard pounces on girl returning home from shop, dies

Leopard attacked the girl child in Palamu Tiger Reserve of Latehar. The girl injured in the attack was immediately rushed to the hospital in Mednigar, where she died during treatment. The incident is of Ukamad village of Chipadohar West. According to the information, the girl had gone for a walk in the forest. Meanwhile, the leopard attacked him.

According to the information, the girl Kiran Kumari was a resident of Auraiya. She Ukamad had come to visit her uncle’s house. This area is adjacent to the forest. The girl had gone to the nearby shop to buy goods at 7 pm on Saturday. When she was returning home, the leopard suddenly attacked her at a distance of about 100 meters from the house.

Hearing the screams of the girl, the family members and the people around reached there. The leopard ran away after seeing the people. The relatives immediately took the girl to MMCH Medininagar. But the girl died during treatment. Under the government provisions, the forest department gave immediate assistance of Rs 26,000 to the victim’s family.

On the other hand, after conducting the post-mortem of the girl’s body in MMCH, the body has been handed over to her family members.

Even before this, a leopard had attacked and injured two forest workers here. According to the information, the leopard had entered the Sambhar Soft Release Center of Barisanar range of PTR. The leopard also killed a deer during this period. During that time two forest personnel were patrolling there.

On seeing the leopard, both started running to save their lives. But the leopard attacked them too. Somehow both saved their lives but both were badly injured in the attack. Both were immediately taken to the hospital. Dr. Jayaprakash Sahu told that forest worker Akhilesh Yadav got hurt on his hand and thigh due to leopard attack. Whereas, the leopard badly injured Suryanath Yadav’s hand, due to which he had to get 10 stitches.

At the same time, a leopard pounced on three people who were repairing the pipeline in Almora, Uttarakhand. Two women were also involved in this. Due to the screams of the people, the leopard ran away from there. But by then he had injured all three. Social worker Narayan Rawat and the local people took all three to the Community Health Center at Dwarhat where they were treated.
