The first ODI match between India and Bangladesh is held at the Sher-e Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Before this match, big news came out from the Indian camp. Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of all the three matches of this ODI series. At the same time, spinner Akshar Patel was also not available for selection in the first match.

Pant’s replacement not announced

BCCI has given an update regarding this by issuing a press release. However, the complete reason why Rishabh Pant is out is not clear. But the BCCI has definitely told that he has been released on the advice of the medical team. Due to Pant being out, KL Rahul has got the responsibility of wicketkeeping in the first ODI.

It has been told in the press release, ‘After consultation with the medical team of BCCI, Rishabh Pant has been released from the ODI team. He will join the team before the Test series. No replacement has been sought in his place. Akshar Patel was not available for selection for the first ODI.

Rishabh Pant has been seen struggling a lot in limited overs cricket in recent times. Rishabh Pant got a chance in the playing XI against Zimbabwe and England in the T20 World Cup 2022. In both the matches, Pant could not capitalize on the opportunity and was able to score only 9 runs in total. Then on the tour of New Zealand also, he was disappointed and he was able to add only 42 runs in four innings of T20 and ODI.

Kuldeep Sen’s debut

Talking about the match, Bangladesh has invited India to bat after winning the toss. In this match, fast bowler Kuldeep Sen has got a chance to make his debut for India. Kuldeep had shown a great game in IPL 2022, after which he came into the limelight.
