When the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was released, there was a lot of controversy over it. The film was the story of the pain and struggle of Kashmiri Pandits, which was put on the big screen by director Vivek Agnihotri. The film made many records in the year 2022 at the box office. But based on the true incident of the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits in the year 1990, two factions were formed on social media regarding this film. Some were standing in its support and some were condemning it. Nowadays International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is going on in Goa. Jury head Nadav Lapid has been made in this. He has given a controversial statement regarding this film of Vivek Agnihotri. Nadav Lapid says that the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is a ‘vulgar propaganda’.

Nadav Lapid is an Israeli screenwriter and filmmaker. In the year 2011, ‘Policeman’, ‘The Kindergarten Teacher’ in 2014 and ‘Synonyms’ in the year 2019 had already handled the direction. Nadav gave a controversial statement
Nadav Lapid has an old association with controversial statements. The 47-year-old Israeli filmmaker has a love-hate relationship with his own homeland. Nadav Lapid was one of 250 Israeli filmmakers who signed a protest against the launch of the Shomron (Samaria/West Bank) Film Fund. Nadav Lapid said that there is only one goal in creating this fund, that is to seek financial support from Israeli filmmakers and whitewash their business in return for the award. The official mandate of the Samaria Film Fund is “to provide pensions to Jews living in the West Bank and to produce productions by Israeli citizens filmed in the West Bank.

Apart from this, while talking about his film ‘Synonyms’, Nadav Lapid had said that the collective soul of Israel is a sick soul. Something is wrong, rotten in the existence of Israel. Not only Benjamin Netanyahu, there is nothing special for Israel. Also, I think this Israeli disease is characterized by young Israeli men who are muscular, smile and don’t question or doubt any issue. They are only proud of being Israeli.

Anupam Kher and Vivek Agnihotri condemned the statement of Nadav Lapid
Nadav Lapid has called ‘The Kashmir Files’ as ‘vulgar propaganda’, in such a situation a big debate has started on social media. Condemning Nadav’s statement, Anupam Kher has written that no matter how tall the height of the lie is. It is always small in comparison to the truth. At the same time, the film’s director Vivek Agnihotri also reacted saying that good morning, truth is the most dangerous thing. It can make people liars. True in few words, but Vivek has put his point correctly.

Not only this, the Israeli ambassador has also distanced himself from this statement of filmmaker Nadav Lapid. Israel’s ambassador to India, Naor Gillon, gave a blunt reply to Nadav Lapid and said that we are ashamed of Nadav Lapid’s statement. What Nadav has said is his personal point of view.
