India vs New Zealand ODI: On the tour of New Zealand, the Indian team has made a bad start in the three-match ODI series. In the very first match, the Indian team had to face defeat by 7 wickets. In this match, the weak bowling and slow batting of the Indian team has been strongly criticized. Almost every top order batsman played a very slow innings.
When Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer was questioned in the press conference about this criticism and slow innings, he gave a befitting reply. Iyer said that he cannot bat directly on the field in T20 style. Pitch and position have to be understood. Then the game goes on.
Shreyas Iyer said, ‘You cannot go and play directly in T20 mode right now. Because every player has a lot of time. If you know about the pitch, then you can prepare your batting strategy accordingly. Have to stay on the wicket. Every wicket (pitch) is not the same.
He said, ‘The game of 50 overs is so big that it changes from time to time. When the sun sets after 10 overs, the dew comes. In such a situation, it is not known how the wicket will be. Although the mindset should always be to score runs, but the bowlers also come with a complete strategy. Not that we can play the same way. This happens only in T20.
Can there be some changes in the Indian playing-11 in the second ODI against New Zealand? In response to this question, Shreyas Iyer said, ‘I don’t know anything about change yet. What can happen in a match right now. This is the management’s job, not mine. Just say that we will go with full preparation.
