MCD Election: BJP has maximum millionaire candidates, this is the condition of AAP and Congress

Delhi Municipal Corporation elections are to be held on December 4. For this, all the candidates are making full efforts. Some of the candidates who entered this election battle are also included in the list of millionaires. Actually, a report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has come out. According to this, BJP has the maximum number of millionaire candidates in the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections. After that there is the number of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress.

According to the information, in the list of top-3 richest candidates, two candidates are from BJP and one candidate is from Aam Aadmi Party. According to the report, three candidates of Aam Aadmi Party have the highest liabilities, while there are two independent candidates who have declared their property as zero. The report states that an Independent, a Congress and a BSP candidate have the least assets.

According to the report, 162 (65 per cent) out of 249 candidates of BJP, 148 (60 per cent) out of 248 candidates of Aam Aadmi Party and 107 (44 per cent) out of 245 candidates of Congress have declared assets worth more than one crore. .

The report of the Association for Democratic Reforms states that the average assets of each candidate contesting this time is Rs 2.27 crore. In the 2017 municipal elections, the average assets of each of the 2,315 candidates was Rs 1.61 crore.

The average property of each of the 249 candidates of the BJP is Rs 4.04 crore, while that of the 248 candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party is Rs 3.74 crore and that of the 245 candidates of the Congress is Rs 1.98 crore.

BJP’s Ramdev Sharma contesting from Ballimaran ward has declared assets worth more than Rs 66 crore. Whereas BJP’s Nandini Sharma from 149-Malviya Nagar ward has declared assets worth more than Rs 49.84 crore. On the other hand, Jitendra Bansala, the Aam Aadmi Party candidate from 248-Karawal Nagar, has declared assets worth more than Rs 48.27 crore in his affidavit.

ADR has analyzed the affidavits of 1,336 candidates. 556 of them are crorepatis. If we talk about the top-10 rich candidates, then there is no Congress candidate in it, while BJP has 5, AAP 3 and two independent candidates. There are 1,349 candidates in the fray for the MCD elections to be held on December 4.
