Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi ends on Monday, 30th January. This journey, which started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, covered a distance of about 4000 kilometers in 145 days, passing through 12 states and two union territories, and reached Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Where Rahul Gandhi hoisted the tricolor on Sunday at the historic Lal Chowk and said that the promise made to India has been fulfilled. He described the journey as the most profound and beautiful experience of his life.
Bharat Jodo Yatra covered a distance of 4,080 kms passing through 12 states and two union territories. During this, Rahul Gandhi addressed 12 public meetings, more than 100 meetings, 13 press conferences. The yatra passed through Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Now on Monday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will unfurl the national flag at the Congress headquarters in Srinagar and unveil the Bharat Jodo Yatra Memorial. Later, a public meeting will also be held at SK Stadium, for which about two dozen opposition political parties have been invited by the Congress. However, it has not yet been confirmed by the party high command that how many party leaders will participate in the concluding program of the yatra. But Mallikarjun Kharge has written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah demanding proper security arrangements for the meeting.

Security was tight at Lal Chowk
Security was at its peak for the 10-minute program of hoisting the tricolor at Lal Chowk on Sunday. All roads within a radius of one kilometer leading to the Chowk, which has symbolic importance for the city, were closed since Saturday night and no vehicular movement was allowed. In fact, rebuilding the organization is a big challenge before the country’s oldest party. The tussle regarding the leadership in the party came to the fore recently. Although once again the command of the Congress is in the hands of non-Gandhi family, but the big leaders within the party believe that even today the decisions are taken by the Gandhi family only. After which it is being said that the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra will be judged by the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Elections are to be held in 9 states this year
Let us inform that this year assembly elections are to be held in 9 states Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. The Congress is not expected to gain in the four north-eastern states. The party is continuously losing its mass base in these states. Coming back here is a big challenge for the party. The reason being, in Mizoram, the Congress had suffered a crushing defeat in 2018 and was reduced to just five seats, while in Meghalaya too the party had to face defeat.
