Gurmeet remembered the days
‘Ramayana’ fame Gurmeet Chowdhary has done his share of struggle in the industry.
In an interview, the actor told that when he was 6 years old, he had decided to become an actor.
He came to Mumbai at the age of 16. He was from army background, he had no identity in TV or film industry.
But Gurmeet knew very well that he would earn a name in this field. Since childhood, the actor had a penchant for entertaining people.
Whenever there was a festival or celebration, he used to act and entertain the relatives.
When Gurmeet came to Mumbai at the age of 16, he came with big dreams like everyone else.
Gurmeet joined a film institute before getting a break in ‘Ramayana’.
There used to be a lot of expenditure here, so at the end of the month, Gurmeet was left with no money.
When there was no money left, he did not even have a place to live, because Gurmeet used to live on a daily basis.
In these difficult days, Gurmeet used to spend the night with the sweepers at the Institute.
When friend Sandeep came to know about this, he gave shelter to Gurmeet in his house.
For four years, Gurmeet kept giving 10-12 auditions daily, only then he got the role of Ram in ‘Ramayana’.
