The Kolkata Police has busted a fraud racket by conducting raids on Wednesday. Police has recovered cash worth about 4 crores in the raid. Bidhannagar police recovered this cash on Wednesday during special raids on several illegal call centers running in Newtown area. Police has arrested a total of 6 people in this case so far.
According to the information, during Naka checking on March 2, the police had found suspicious activities of some people. After this a police team started tracing the suspects. During this, the police reached his hideout. The police claim that 13 lakh 60 thousand rupees have been recovered by raiding his flat.
At the same time, the police arrested four people from the spot. The police claim that both the arrested accused are residents of Gujarat and New Delhi. After this, the police started a detailed investigation of the case to find out the leader of the gang.

During interrogation, both the accused traced the gang leader Gaurav Soni and his brother Sourav to the police. Investigation has revealed that they run a fraud racket and are involved in activities like money laundering. After this the police raided his house. During this, the police seized two luxury cars and several documents including one kg of gold from his house.
Investigation also revealed that Gaurav Soni and his brother Sourav run at least 8-10 illegal call centers at different places in Kolkata. The people of these call centers make fake calls abroad and dupe foreigners on the pretext of providing computer technical support or giving personal loans of huge amount.
After this, on the basis of the statement of the accused, the police again raided several illegal concentrators in Newton area on Wednesday and recovered a huge amount of cash. DCP (Newtown) Praveen Prakash said, “During the raid, the Bidhannagar police recovered Rs 3 crore 96 lakh 60 thousand from illegal call centres. The investigation in the matter is still going on. Many more people may be arrested.”
