CHADIGARH: Denying Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann’s accusations that he required Rs 2 crore as allurement from a cricketer for a federal government task, ex-CM
Charanjit Singh Channi
implicated
Mann
of attempting to embarrass his household and stated “even a CM can’t favour somebody disqualified”.
As Mann exposed the cricketer’s identity on Wednesday after his demand ended,
Channi
Held a press conference to ask him how somebody can get a Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) task without eligibility. Asked why he believed that the allegation did not have benefit, Channi stated the cricketer had actually composed the initial assessments for the Punjab State Civil Services in 2020 under the sports classification and even moved court after stopping working to make it.
Describing the ineligibility, previous Olympian and fellow Congressman
Pargat Singh
declared that the sports classification tasks were for the IOA-recognised Olympic disciplines and cricket wasn’t amongst those, like defined in the Punjab Recruitment of Sportsmen (First Amendment) Rules, 2020. He stated: “If the CMs set about giving tasks to everybody who approached them, it will open a Pandora’s box, for numerous comparable cases will need to be gotten used to prevent lawsuits.”

Aam Aadmi Party
. Asked if the Congress will support AAP versus the BJP, Bajwa stated: “A company no.”
