Ontario Provincial Police state human remains were found in the Ottawa River in Clarence-Rockland previously today.
Cops state the remains were found by an individual who was fishing at the boat launch on Edward Street and called cops around 10:30 a.m. on Monday.

OPP officers, together with the Clarence-Rockland Fire Department, went to the place and recuperated the remains.

An examination by the Russell County OPP and Russell County OPP Crime Unit, with help from the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit, is underway, in combination with the Office of the Chief Coroner, to figure out the identity of the departed and the scenarios surrounding the death,” OPP stated in a press release.
A post-mortem examination will be performed, and while the examination remains in its early phases, authorities state they do not think there are any public security issues.
