The process of closing the doors of Panch Puja is going to start from today in Badrinath Dham. In the coming 5 days, the doors of Badrinath Dham will be closed for winter on 17th November at 9:07 pm, whereas this time till now 13 lakh 60 thousand pilgrims have reached Badrinath Dham and still 5 days of journey are left. In which this figure can go closer to 14 to 15 lakhs.
Chamoli district district officer Sandeep Tiwari said that the pilgrimage to Badrinath Dham has been going on continuously for the last two months. So far 13,60,000 lakh pilgrims have reached Badrinath Dham and the figure is expected to exceed 140,000 and there are still 6 days left in which a large number of pilgrims are expected to arrive.

The next day on Thursday, November 14, the doors of Adi Kedareshwar Temple and Adi Jagatguru Shankaracharya Temple will be closed. On its third day, on Friday, 15th November, Khadag – book worship and recitation of Vedas will stop in Badrinath temple and on the fourth day, Saturday, 16th November, Kadhai Bhog will be offered to Goddess Lakshmi ji by the chief priest Rawal ji and on Sunday, 17th November at 9.07 pm. The doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will be closed within minutes.

After the closing of the doors, on Monday 18th November, the throne of Adi Guru Shankaracharya ji along with Shri Kuber ji, Uddhav ji and Rawal ji will depart for winter stay at Pandukeshwar and Shri Narasimha temple will depart for Joshimath. Shri Uddhav ji and Shri Kuber ji will stay at Pandukeshwar during the winter season. After the stay of Adi Guru Shankaracharya ji at Pandukeshwar on Monday 18th November, it will ceremoniously reach the place of throne Shri Narasimha Temple Joshimath on Tuesday 19th November. Along with this, winter pujas will be organized at Shri Pandukeshwar and Shri Nrisingh Temple, Joshimath.
