A girl got married only 4 months ago and her husband lost his life in an accident. After the death of her husband, the wife took such a decision which shocked everyone as well as left them in confusion. The wife demanded the dead husband’s sperm from the doctor. The wife’s demand left the doctors of Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in a dilemma. Due to the body being more than 24 hours old, the doctor also refused to preserve the sperm. The wife created a ruckus. However, the doctors calmed down the matter by giving advice.

Jitendra Singh Gaharwar, resident of Churhat in Sidhi district, died in a road accident. The police prepared the Panchnama of the body and sent it to the mortuary of Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for post-mortem. The wife was not at the spot at the time of the accident. Informed the police about his death, on which the wife refused to conduct post-mortem. After this, the police kept waiting for the arrival of the deceased’s wife in the hospital.

The next day when the wife came to the hospital, she demanded in front of the police and doctors to preserve the sperm of her dead husband so that she could spend her whole life with the child born from her husband’s sperm. Everyone was surprised to hear this. The complications between the doctor and the police increased. After more than 24 hours had passed, the doctors gave up on preserving the sperm from the deceased’s body.

Dr. Rajneesh Kumar Pandey, HOD of the Forensic Department of the Medical College, said that it is necessary to preserve the sperm from the body of a dead person within 24 hours. Sperm cannot be preserved after more than this time has passed. Apart from this, there is no facility in the medical college to adopt this procedure. As soon as the doctors raised their hands, the wife of the deceased created a ruckus. After much persuasion by the doctor and the police, the girl agreed and the post-mortem could be conducted. After the PM, the body was handed over to the family members.

Dr. Atul Singh, Co-Superintendent of Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, said that the deceased had got married only 4 months ago. Husband lost his life in the accident. Because of this, the wife had decided to spend her entire life in the memory of her husband and was demanding sperm. Due to excessive time, this process was not possible. After persuasion, the wife agreed and the body was handed over to the family.
