Rajasthan News: In Jaipur, the dead body of a girl who had a love marriage was found hanging under suspicious circumstances. Accusing the girl’s in-laws of killing her for dowry, the girl’s family members killed her and hanged her in a room of the house. The girl’s father claimed that shortly before the incident, the daughter had called her cousin and expressed fear of killing herself and there were injury marks on her body.
The incident took place in Ramnagariya police station area. Harshita’s body was found hanging in CBI Colony at 8 pm on 15th December. After this, husband Pankaj took her to Jaipuria Hospital. But the doctors declared Harshita dead.
After this, the hospital staff called the uncle of deceased Harshita and informed him about the death. Then it came to light that Harshita had called her uncle’s son Lokesh on the day of her death. She used to call her brother Lokesh and talk about her sorrows and pains. On December 15, at 1:30 in the afternoon, she had called Lokesh and said – ‘Brother… Pankaj and his in-laws will kill me, give them the money. You tell Papa, I want to come to you.’

ACP Sanganer Vinod Kumar Sharma said that after this incident, a case of dowry murder was registered against Pankaj and his family at Ramnagariya police station on behalf of father Ashok Tanwar.
The father alleges that after accepting the daughter’s love marriage, she started visiting our house with her husband. Meanwhile, son-in-law Pankaj and his family start torturing Harshita for dowry. For a long time, daughter Harshita kept hiding the matter of assault over dowry demand from her family.
The husband used to beat her under the influence of alcohol and used to threaten her to bring dowry. He even threatened to leave me if she did not bring dowry. Pankaj’s family also started pressurizing him for divorce by torturing him for dowry. After the case was registered, the FSL team reached CBI Colony on 17th December and collected evidence and the investigation of the case is going on.
