The Asia Cup 2025 will now take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to September 28, as officially announced by Mohsin Naqvi, who is both the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The tournament was originally supposed to be held in India. However, due to ongoing political tensions and mutual understanding between the Pakistan and Indian cricket boards (PCB and BCCI), it was decided to shift the tournament to a neutral venue. This decision was made to avoid direct cross-border matches while still allowing the tournament to go ahead smoothly.
A total of eight teams will take part in this exciting competition. These include Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and four other Asian cricket teams. The tournament will follow the T20 format, making it an important warm-up event ahead of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.
The UAE was chosen because of its proven experience in successfully hosting major international cricket tournaments in the past. Matches will be held in two of its biggest cities—Dubai and Abu Dhabi—both of which have world-class stadiums and facilities.
Cricket fans across Asia and beyond are eagerly waiting for more details. A complete match schedule is expected to be released soon, which will help teams and fans prepare for the action-packed event.
