Situated on a peaceful, tree-lined street in Northcote is an architecturally-designed home where liveability has been the top consideration.
Designed by Taouk Architects, the property was completed this year and is now on the market with a price guide of $3.8 million to $4.1 million.
Originally on the 429-square-metre corner block was a mission brown brick home in need of reimagining.

While it may be difficult to see the previous property within the new one, architect Youseph Taouk said the “single storey residence was retained in part as a strategic method to maximise building envelope.”

“The design is inspired by creating a warm, welcoming home that reflects Northcote’s character,” said Taouk.
“A natural colour palette and authentic materials provide timelessness and comfort, while abundant natural light enhances wellbeing and connection to the outdoors.”

“Although strategic, retaining the original dwelling in part didn’t come without its challenges,” he said.
“The small land size, and being a corner block, prompted extrospective thinking in responding to the site’s constraints within its broader context.”

The ground floor living spaces lead out onto an alfresco area complete with outdoor kitchen, heated swimming pool, and thoughtfully designed gardens.

All in all, the redesign has crafted an incredibly modern and liveable home in a desirable Melbourne suburb – a result Taouk believes is “contemporary, inviting, and respectful of its neighbourhood.”
