The Supreme Court on Friday designated retired Kerala High Court judge Justice C.N. Ramachandran Nair to prepare a comprehensive inventory of the spiritual ornaments of the Sabarimala temple divine being, Lord Ayyappa.
A Bench led by Justice N.V. Ramana said the Justice Nair committee may take the aid of a specialist appraiser in the workout. The breakdown will be turned over to the peak court in a sealed cover. The court noted the case for hearing in four weeks.
The order for the inventory was started on the suggestions of the Kerala federal government, represented by Attorney General K.K. Venugopal. The court had asked the State’s opinion on the procedures to be taken to keep the ornaments safe and safe.
Mr. Venugopal drew the court’s attention to how the Supreme Court previously secured “lakhs of crores” worth of Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple treasure.
