The campaign did not only enhance the urban hygiene, but also generated job opportunities among marginalized groups of people through recycling and waste-segregation programmes. Hyderabad is now a role model on how to manage a city in a sustainable manner and a model on cleanliness activities that are citizen driven.
Hari Chandana has also paid much attention to women empowerment and inclusive development. Her programmes promote the involvement of women in entrepreneurship, education and governance. Fourth, thousands of women with poor backgrounds have acquired economic independence and leadership skills through different training workshops and networks of self-help-groups.
