NDA is fighting the Bihar Assembly elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. But the kind of things that have come out this week are spreading confusion not only among the party workers but also among the general public. At present, the statements of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and JDU leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh have created a stir in the political circles. Amit Shah said in the Tarapur rally on October 30 that make Samrat ji win, Modi ji will make him a big man. Obviously, this statement of Amit Shah has made Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary a possible contender for the post of Chief Minister.

On the other hand, the statement of JDU leader and Union Minister Lalan Singh is also no less confusing. Like Amit Shah’s old statement, a statement of Lalan Singh is going viral in which he is seen saying that after the elections it will be decided who will become the CM of Bihar? However, both the leaders have also reiterated that despite JDU getting fewer seats in the last elections, Nitish Kumar was made the CM.

This time, not only from the statements of Nitish’s opponents but also his colleagues, it seems that Nitish Kumar is not that strong on the chair. In such a situation, the only analysis left is whether these statements are a sign of internal discord in the NDA? Or is all this happening as part of some strategic move by BJP?

1-A hint of the coronation of Emperor Choudhary or a publicity ploy?

According to a ground report published in the Indian Express, the people of Tarapur assembly seat are assuming that there is a strong possibility that Samrat Choudhary will become the CM of Bihar after winning. In this report, a person from the village says that who knows, maybe we are going to send the future Chief Minister to the Assembly. After all Shah ji has already given the signal.

In fact, in a public meeting organized in Tarapur assembly constituency of Munger district on October 30, 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a strong appeal in favor of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. He said, make Samrat ji win, Modi ji will make him a big man. This statement was not only going to give impetus to Samrat Chaudhary’s election campaign at the local level, but could also be very beneficial for BJP in some parts of Bihar. Samrat Choudhary, a senior BJP leader who became the deputy chief minister after reuniting with Nitish Kumar, has long been considered an internal contender in the party. But this statement of Amit Shah has come with the word ‘big man’.

To understand the context of this statement, we will have to look at the political background of Bihar. In the 2022 assembly elections, NDA had won 125 seats, in which BJP got 78 and JDU got 43. Nitish Kumar took over as Chief Minister for the third time, but BJP’s growing ambitions in the alliance made JDU uneasy. Samrat Chaudhary, who comes from the Kurmi community and has a strong hold in the western part of Bihar, has been strategically strengthened by the BJP.

Amit Shah’s statement seems to be part of this strategy. On one hand it is motivating the emperor, on the other hand it is giving a signal to the BJP workers that the weight of the party is increasing. But does this mean that the ‘coronation’ of Samrat Chaudhary is certain? Political experts believe that this statement is part of propaganda. Because BJP is not yet in a position to isolate Nitish Kumar. Nor does Samrat Choudhary have the strength to replace Nitish Kumar. Anyway, Prashant Kishore has weakened him morally. According to BJP insiders, this statement could be an indication of giving Samrat a post like ‘Cabinet Minister’ or ‘State President’ and not that of CM.

3- Has CM Nitish Kumar been dismissed?

Now the question arises whether Nitish Kumar’s card has been cut? 74-year-old Nitish, known as the ‘development man’ of Bihar, has held the post of chief minister four times since 2005. During his tenure, Bihar’s growth rate remained above 10%, roads were built and electricity was provided. But age, health and alliance instability damaged his image. The statements of Amit Shah and Lalan have exposed these weaknesses.

However, NDA made it clear many times that Nitish is the face. Samrat Chaudhary said in an interview given to a news channel on November 1 that Nitish Kumar is the CM face of NDA. His health is fine, and this is not his last election. But during Maharashtra elections, Devendra Fadnavis also used to say that his CM is Eknath Shinde. Elections are being fought under his leadership. But Nitish’s strength lies in his ‘good governance’ model. NDA’s manifesto is the blue print of Nitish’s model of developed Bihar.

4-Is this being said as part of strategy?

Are the statements of Amit Shah and Lalan Singh just for electoral gains during Bihar Assembly elections 2025? In fact, many people in the state praise Nitish but also want that some other person should become the CM. Many people feel that Nitish has become old now. His health is also not good now.

Along with this, the hard core supporters of BJP want that a BJP leader should now take over the leadership. Obviously it is important to satisfy everyone in elections. Perhaps this is the reason why BJP is running under this illusion. On one hand, she talks about making Nitish the CM again, while on the other hand, she also keeps talking about changing the leadership.

This statement is also strategically correct. Because without ‘eliminating’ Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) or merging it with BJP, the present central government cannot last a day. NDA government at the center 293 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha elections It rests on ₹, in which the contribution of 240 MPs of BJP and 12 MPs of JDU is important. As soon as JDU’s support is withdrawn, Telugu Desam will also start bargaining and its tantrums will increase. It is obvious that BJP is not in a position to think ahead except its ally like Nitish Kumar.

One thing is that Nitish Kumar will always have another option available. He can turn back towards the Grand Alliance at any time. Therefore, BJP leadership still cannot even think of giving the leadership of Bihar to anyone other than Nitish.

5- Amit Shah said that lines are set in stone.

The statements of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, known as ‘Chanakya’ of Indian politics, have always been the center of political turmoil. Every statement he makes is not only strategic, but what he says is true today. Especially in the election environment, his promises have proved to be ‘line in stone’. Remember the old things. Chhattisgarh is a living example of this. Just before the 2018 Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, Amit Shah had said in favor of Vishnu Dev Sai at a rally, ‘Vishnu Dev ji is an experienced leader. Make him an MLA, I will make him a big man. Vishnu Dev Sai, who had lost in 2018, became MLA from Konkri in 2023 and Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh in December.
Such promises of Shah fill the enthusiasm among BJP workers. Because Shah not only makes the prediction, but also starts the machinery to make it come true. They create such a mix of caste-alliance, organization and power of the center that statements become blueprints and not just words. Even in Bihar, where Nitish Kumar dominates, Shah’s statement of Samrat Chaudhary is a message to JDU – BJP is now ‘big brother’. If history repeats, the November 14 results could make the Emperor a ‘big man’.
