Farah Khan married Shirish Kunder in 2004, but soon after marriage, she became very successful as an excellent choreographer and director. His first directorial film Main Hoon Na, starring Shahrukh Khan, proved to be a superhit. After this he made Om Shanti Om (2007), which was an even bigger hit.
Success between husband and wife
Shirish was earlier the editor of Farah’s films, but he could not repeat that success in his directed films. His first films Jaan-E-Mann (2006) and Joker (2012) both failed. Farah once said, “We have had a lot of success and a lot of failure for 12 years. I give him a lot of credit because he has to bear the burden of marrying me.”

Farah further said that there is never a feeling of pride in their relationship. This is the same sentiment that was shown in the 1973 film Abhimaan, in which Amitabh Bachchan becomes jealous of his wife’s (Jaya Bachchan) success. Farah said, “People talk a lot, but we are really equal. I never think, ‘I am earning more and my husband is not.’ Why? We are equal partners.”
Farah was considered responsible
Farah told that both of them are very happy, but in the initial days of marriage, sometimes there was a situation of ‘pride’. Farah said, “When I used to choreograph his songs, everyone expected feedback from me as soon as the shot was over. This doesn’t look good for a director. So we decided that we will not work together. You do your work and I do mine.”
Farah also told that she is very sociable (extrovert), whereas Shirish is exactly the opposite. Farah said, “He is very quiet and solitary. He talks to very few people.” Farah said that she too has to face its impact, because people consider her responsible for the failures of Shirish and his brother Sajid Khan.
