An earthquake of 7.0 magnitude was recorded in America’s Alaska state on Saturday, causing panic in many areas of the state. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), this earthquake occurred northeast of Yakutat at 11:41 am. Tremors were also felt in some parts of Canada. Not only this, after the earthquake several aftershocks of magnitude 5 were also recorded.

According to American media reports, Alaska Earthquake Center Operations Director Austin Holland said that no damage or injuries have been reported so far. However, he acknowledged that the earthquake was “quite powerful” and was felt quickly in many nearby areas. He said that such activity is not unusual due to the presence of large faults in the area where the earthquake occurred.
