Sunil Gavaskar also explained that it is not easy to return to T20 cricket after a long time. Gavaskar said, ‘In T20 format, the batsman is expected to play aggressively from the first ball and if there is no rhythm, then the difficulty increases. Gill was also seen struggling with the same problem recently. Gill’s natural game is more suited to the longer format, where timing and ground shots are important. However, this does not mean that Gill is not fit for T20.
Sharing a personal story, Sunil Gavaskar told that he was recently traveling from Ahmedabad in the same flight with Shubman Gill and Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav. During this time, while showing love and affection to Gill, he had said, ‘Tell someone at home to remove your eyes because we believe in it. We believe that sometimes the evil eye is involved.
