The historic meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney amid the ongoing fierce war in West Asia and the Iran-Israel conflict can prove to be a new chapter for India’s diplomacy.
In this meeting held in New Delhi, both the countries not only resolved to take bilateral relations to the ‘Next Level Partnership’, but also shared a strong message for global peace.
Prime Minister Modi made it clear that the current situation in West Asia is a matter of deep concern for India. He stressed that India has always been in favor of peace and stability and all disputes should be resolved through ‘dialogue and diplomacy’.

PM Modi said that the safety of Indian citizens present in the area is India’s top priority and work will continue in this direction with all concerned countries. He reiterated that “we have always appealed for peace and stability.”
There was also a serious discussion between the two leaders regarding terrorism, extremism and fundamentalism. During this, both the leaders described terrorism and fundamentalism as a common threat to the entire humanity and called for unity against it. Taking a big step in the defense sector, India and Canada have decided to establish ‘India-Canada Defense Dialogue’.

Through this, both the countries will promote defense industry, military exchange and maritime domain awareness (maritime security awareness).
