There was a sensation when the dead body of a teenage girl was found in a garden in Narhera village of Lohia Nagar police station area of Meerut on Saturday morning. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Preliminary investigation revealed that the girl was strangled to death. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police immediately started investigation and within a few hours the incident was revealed.
The deceased was identified as a 17-year-old girl resident of the village. After receiving information about the dead body, the police inspected the spot and started interrogating the people nearby. To get to the bottom of the matter, the police also examined the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area.

During the investigation, the police found some important clues, on the basis of which the girl’s maternal uncle Sartaj was taken into custody. On the basis of the facts revealed during interrogation, the police arrested Sartaj on charges of murder.
CCTV investigation reveals layers of murder
Meerut SP City Vinayak Gopal Bhosale said that at around 7:30 am on Saturday, information was received that a dead body was lying in Narhera village of Lohia Nagar police station area. As soon as the information was received, CO Kotwali Abhishek and SO Lohia Nagar reached the spot along with the police team and started investigation.
Police examined the footage of CCTV cameras installed at the scene and nearby. Meanwhile, the suspicion of investigation fell on the girl’s maternal uncle Sartaj. The police took him into custody and interrogated him, in which the entire story of the murder came to light.
During interrogation, Sartaj told that the girl used to talk to many boys. She was explained many times that she should not talk to boys, but she did not listen and kept in constant touch with other boys. There was resentment in the family regarding this matter and his maternal uncle Sartaj also used to argue with him.
Uncle arrested, step brother absconding
According to the police, during this dispute, Sartaj strangled the girl to death. After the murder, a plan was made to dispose of the body. Police investigation revealed that the girl’s step brother Shoaib was also aware of the incident.
It is alleged that Sartaj and Shoaib together dumped the body of the girl in an orchard in Narhera area, so that the incident could be hidden. After the murder, both of them left from there.
SP City Vinayak Gopal Bhosale said that the police disclosed the incident within just four hours and arrested the accused uncle Sartaj. Meanwhile, the girl’s step brother Shoaib is still absconding. Police say that he is being searched and he will also be arrested soon.
