Toyota’s factory accessories range expands to offer mobility support

Toyota has announced a range of genuine accessories designed to assist Australians with physical disabilities and movement challenges.

Available through Toyota’s dealer network, the Assisted Mobility Solutions range of accessories can make it easier for people to get in and out of their vehicles, as well as perform other tasks like accessing seatbelts.

The company says the products have been designed to be easy to use and transferable across most of its models.

The Japanese automaker has a history of supporting those who are differently abled, offering factory-made vehicles in its home market with wheelchair loading devices and Turn-Tilt Seats, which use a mechanism to help lower the occupant out of the vehicle.

While not available new in Australia, these models – known as the Welcab series – are popular as private imports.

It’s understood more than 21 per cent of Australia’s population identifies as having a disability.

“We know everyday movement can be challenging for many, so our team’s focus is on introducing a range of products designed to provide people with diverse mobility needs with the tools to keep moving with confidence and make a meaningful difference in their daily lives,” said John Pappas, vice president of sales, marketing, and franchise operations at Toyota Australia.
