The private information of more than one million Australians may be at risk following a fresh data breach involving a health service.
Telehealth provider Updoc confirmed contact information may have been accessed during Friday’s attack.
“Updoc identified a brief period of unauthorised access to a third party system that is used to support its operations,” a spokesperson for the platform said.

“The access was isolated and involved contact information, which may have included the name, email and postal address of account holders.”
The online health platform said its own systems were “not accessed” and health, financial and payment details were not touched.
“Updoc took immediate actions to block the unauthorised access and there has been no evidence of access after the initial event,” the spokesperson said.
“Customers are not required to take immediate action, and login and account security remain unaffected.
“Updoc apologises to its customers for any concern or inconvenience this event has caused.”
Updoc has been targeted in a data breach impacting customers. It wrote to customers with an ‘important security notice’. Credit: 7NEWS Updoc’s security team also emailed patients on Wednesday, saying it was reaching out as a “precaution”.
“You should always remain aware of any unexpected emails or letters about your account,” it said in the “important security notice”.
“You should treat these with caution and forward anything suspicious to us.
“We will never ask for a password via email.”
Updoc was launched in 2021 and co-founder Dylan Coyne said earlier this year that the platform had “scaled past one million Australians” using it for 24/7 doctor consults.
The breach followed just a couple of weeks after Partnered Health revealed it had been targeted in a major cyberattack, with patients told their personal medical records may have been stolen.
Partnered Health Group runs more than 60 clinics — including general practices and skin cancer centres — across Australia.
Close to one million customers, meanwhile, were caught up in a cyber attack involving Origin Energy on July 22.
