Australian comedian Nina Oyama has appeared to slam co-star Dave Hughes ahead of the premiere of comedy competition Class Clowns, where the pair are teammates.
After a promo for the ABC program was shared on social media, Oyama said there were several reasons to watch the show.
But it was points three and four of her caption that seemed trained on Hughes, who has used his public figure status to fire up over the state of Australian politics.

“(Class Clowns is) made by a huge team of amazing people — comics, producers, writers, camera crew, makeup artists, runners, editors, etc whose incredible work shouldn’t be ruined by one old guy who is addicted to espousing nonsense on the internet,” Oyama posted.
“(Reason) 4 — My teammate does not say the word ‘Albo’ once (a miracle I didn’t appreciate enough at the time).”
Oyama joked with Hughes during the teaser that “our minds are connected”.
But that bond looks to have soured, with Oyama posting “safe to say I have unconnected my mind since this was filmed”.

Credit: nina.oyama/Instagram Hughes has pivoted heavily to offering political commentary, taking aim at the federal government over changes to negative gearing and capital gains tax and accusing Anthony Albanese of “burning through taxpayer money travelling the globe to collect meaningless awards from lobby groups”.
Hughes notably missed the Logies in August to attend a Liberal Party event.
On Tuesday, he shared a video with the caption: “This realisation changes how you look at government.”
“Just responded to a Labor troll with something we all need to remember. Promoting an ABC show I’m on and this bloke goes, ‘I thought you hated people who took government money’,” Hughes said.
“My response was, the government has no money. It’s taxpayer money. The government takes off people. The government has never had any of their own money and they never will.
“I’m on an ABC show … called Class Clowns — it’s very funny and it was done cheaply.
“I was paid taxpayer money. I got some of my own money back. Only a little bit of it but I was happy to get it back.”
In Class Clowns, Oyama and Hughes, together with Becky Lucas and Matt Okine and Luke McGregor and Bron Lewis are divided into three houses to tackle different challenges based on school subjects.
