Google services, including YouTube, YouTube Music and Google Search, are reportedly facing issues in the US on October 28, 2026, with thousands of users reporting problems accessing the platforms. Downdetector has recorded a sharp increase in complaints, with about 24,000 reports related to YouTube at one point. However, Google’s official Workspace Status Dashboard continues to show its services as operational.
YouTube users have reported problems loading and playing videos, with some encountering the error message, “An error occurred. Please try again later.” As per Windowsreport, several users have tried refreshing webpages or restarting the app, but these measures have reportedly provided only temporary relief or failed to resolve the issue.
Team YouTube has responded to some users on social media X but has not confirmed a widespread outage. In one response, the team asked users whether the problem was occurring across all devices and recommended restarting the app, installing the latest version or clearing browser cache and cookies.
Downdetector tracks service disruptions based on user-submitted reports. A spike in complaints can indicate a widespread problem, but it does not necessarily establish the cause or confirm that all users are affected.
