A Holiday Bench of the Supreme Court on Thursday did not remain an Allahabad High Court order to district and cops authorities in Lucknow to “forthwith” get rid of roadside banners showing the personal details of select individuals implicated of “vandalism” throughout the anti- Citizenship (Amendment) Act(CAA) demonstrations in December 2019.
On Thursday, the Vacation Bench of Justices U.U. Lalit and Aniruddha Bose did not interfere with the High Court order.
Noting that the controversy included “concerns which requires further elaboration and consideration”, the Holiday Bench referred the appeal filed by the Uttar Pradesh federal government to a bigger Bench, to be set up by Chief Justice of India S. A. Bobde “immediately”.
