Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stated the Tokyo Olympic Games will proceed as prepared in July, in spite of coronavirus concerns leading to the postponement of sporting occasions.
Abe added the International Olympic Committee (IOC) would have the final decision whether Tokyo 2020 goes ahead.
” We will get rid of the spread of the infection and host the Olympics without issue, as prepared,” Abe stated.
Japan has had more than 1,400 cases and 28 deaths arising from coronavirus.
