Relief to households of victims and expense of hospitalisation removed in new order.

Hours after it released a notice that an ex-gratia of 4 lakh will be paid to the families of those who pass away of COVID-19 infection, the Ministry of House Affairs (MHA) withdrew the order.

In an order issued on Saturday, the MHA said it has decided to treat COVID-19 as a “alerted catastrophe” for the function of providing assistance under the State Catastrophe Response Fund (SDRF).
