The Supreme Court on Tuesday promoted the right of serving Short Service Commission (SSC) females officers of the Navy to be given permanent commission (PC) on a par with their male equivalents.
A Bench of Justices D.Y. Chandrachud and Ajay Rastogi said the “101 reasons” developed by the government, including motherhood and physiological restrictions, reeked of a stereotypical mindset.
