UNC Health established triage tents to screen patients before they enter the medical facility.

” We wish to ensure that individuals walking through the limit of the emergency department require to be there, indicating they need active resuscitation, they need to be looked after for a severe problem,” Dr. Daniel Park, a doctor in the department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, said in a tape-recorded interview. “If they are otherwise well and they want to be evaluated, we are referring them out to the breathing diagnostic centers for screening there.”

Park included the screenings are to secure any immunocompromised or otherwise vulnerable patients inside UNC medical facilities.

Park stated the idea of the tent is to offer drive-up screenings for clients with breathing signs so clients wouldn’t need to leave their vehicles.

6: 00 a.m.
