The house secretary has said she is sorry if NHS personnel feel there has actually been a failure to provide protective package for those dealing with coronavirus clients.

However Priti Patel stated there were going to be problems during what she called an “unmatched global pandemic”.

The British Medical Association previously said that NHS staff were putting their lives at danger when treating clients.

The health secretary said previously that 19 NHS employees had actually died with coronavirus since the outbreak started.

Speaking at Saturday’s coronavirus rundown in Downing Street, the house secretary stated: “I’m sorry if individuals feel that there have actually been failings. I will be really, very clear about that.

” But at the exact same time, we are in an extraordinary international health pandemic right now. It is inevitable that the need and the pressures on PPE and need for PPE are going to be exponential.”

Media caption Matt Hancock: “The main difficulty is one of distribution”

On Friday, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said there sufficed package for everybody and unveiled a strategy to deal with lacks.

He said the government was checking out how NHS personnel who had passed away with the infection had been contaminated – including that some might have caught it outside of work.

” But that doesn’t remove from the bravery of every single NHS worker,” he said, adding that his “heart goes out” to those who have passed away and their families.

Mr Hancock stated he was “especially struck at the high percentage of people from minority ethnic backgrounds and people who have actually pertained to this country to work in the NHS who have actually died of coranavirus”.

” We must recognise their enormous contribution,” he included.
