Atulie’er town became popular after photos emerged showing grownups and kids precariously scaling the cliff using simply rattan ladders.
‘ So delighted I got a house’
Atulie’er village made headings in 2016 when it was exposed that its villagers had to scale precarious ladders to get home, carrying children and anything the village needed.
Images on Chinese state media showed villagers beaming, one of them informing state media outlet CGTN that he was “so pleased that I got an excellent home today”.
