2008-2010 was a hard time for Sony Ericsson. In late 2008, it launched its first Windows Mobile device, the Xperia X1.
The very first was the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 It made its debut on April 1 2010, introducing on the NTT DoCoMo network and it became the fastest-selling smart device in the carrier’s history– reports from the time indicate that the X10 offered 120,000 units in three weeks, beating even the iPhone 3GS (32 GB). Stores were sold out and Sony Ericsson was rushing to ship more units, whatever looked rosy (in Japan, anyway).
The phone dumped the triangular concepts of the original Xperia as well as the slide-out keyboard. Instead, its style drew motivation from the Vivaz, SE’s second Symbian S60 phone.

The Idou and Vivaz were camera-focused phones– the former belonged to the 12 MP camera phone elite, the latter was amongst the first to record 720 p video. The Xperia X10 was less enthusiastic, going for an 8MP video camera with 480 p video capture.
However, that would later on be bumped approximately 720 p and at 30 fps with an upgrade (whereas the Vivaz peaked at 720 p @ 24 fps). This upgrade also made it possible for DLNA.
