PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) – Democratic presidential prospect Joe Biden on Tuesday blasted President Donald Trump’s action to U.S. protests over racism and police misbehavior, vowing to attempt to heal the country’s racial divide and not “fan the flames of hate.”

Speaking in Philadelphia– a city rocked by in some cases violent presentations in current days– the previous vice president sought to draw a brilliant contrast in between himself and Trump, whom he will face in the Nov. 3 general election.

Biden, who served eight years as vice president under Barack Obama, the first black U.S. president, cast himself as the candidate who best comprehends the longstanding pain and sorrow in the country’s black neighborhoods.
